A bit of the rural life in Seattle: ice cream, cheese, plants and flowers from the farm.
Ice Creams and cheeses locally sourced from Vashon island. If you care about these 2 products, you care about Kurt Farms.
The ice cream flavor menu changes from month to month, but their staple is the Flora's Cheese, which is always available and is my favorite. I'd describe their flavors as "pure and minimalist".
There are lots of ice cream spots within several blocks, but this one is our favorite. Tucked away from everything, Kurt Farm Shop uses seasonal ingredients from their farm to create inventive ice cream flavors.
“Amazing food! Very seattle vibe inside, open kitchen style. I believe their food is locally sourced too. ”
“Good for a romantic evening, or if you want to impress a foodie. Beautiful, cozy restaurant tucked in the back of Capitol Hill's Melrose Market. Seasonal, PNW farm-to-table fare. ”
“Upscale but cozy Capitol Hill spot specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine. Killer weekend brunch and imaginative dinner items, including grilled pork collar on banh hoi with salted duck egg, curried pumpkin with dried yuba, and crispy sticky rice finger sandwiches.”
“The ultimate oyster experience. Think you don’t like oysters? Think again. Taylor Shellfish has converted many a skeptic. Taylor farms their own Washington oysters and are infinitely knowledgeable about all the varieties under the sun. It doesn’t get fresher than live oyster tanks table side. Ask your server what they recommend and sample away.”
