Walk among towering evergreens, breathe in the cedar-scented air, and observe the interplay of light and shadow in the canopy. Rooted in the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, this guided forest bathing session in Discovery Park will help you connect more deeply with nature. • We’ll meet at the trailhead and walk deeper into the forest for an opening circle, where I’ll explain about forest bathing. • Next, open your sensory body to the forest, beginning to engage in embodied practice and sensory layering. With my guidance, you’ll explore the forest and connect with it in new ways. • We’ll experience a taste of the forest together with wild-crafted tea made from plants in the forest, and share some closing reflections before walking back to the trailhead. You’ll leave with a profound sense of connection with the forest and the natural world. Note: While the evergreens provide some protection from the rain, be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

Come join me, a lifelong performing artist who practically grew up in this iconic market, for an intimate experience that weaves together music, art, and personal storytelling. • After meeting up at the famous wishing pig, we'll visit the mural featuring legendary artists like Artis the Spoonman and my father, Ron Bailey. I've got the inside scoop on the unique history and incredible stories that I'm so excited to share! You'll also get to hear about and from the local makers and artists whose booths fill the market. • I’ll take you to all the spots where buskers bring art to life, with incredible performers that do everything from playing upright pianos to juggling knives while spinning hoops. Don’t forget to bring some dollar bills if you'd like to tip this world class talent! • After sampling snacks from some of my favorite vendors, we’ll wrap up our tour at the stunning new rooftop garden, which has breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. You’ll discover corners of Pike Place Market that few visitors experience, and you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for what makes this place so special!

We are incredibly blessed here by having access to a stunning variety of products produced by farmers from around the state. When all is said and done... it's all about what you begin with that determines the quality of what ends up on your plate. Begin with fresh quality ingredients and with simple techniques and minimal work you will have a truly memorable meal. We welcome all skill levels and ages—we’ve hosted participants as young as five! • Start at Paper Punch Press for an introduction and guided exploration of Short Run Comix Festival’s library, featuring alternative comics, small press, and self-published artists from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. • Create your own mini-comic with our expert guidance, and print it using our special Risograph printers, which use a stencil-based method that delivers rich colors and a handmade feel. • Stroll down to renowned comic book store Fantagraphics for a guided shopping experience with owner Larry Reid, where you’ll browse rare, independent, and iconic comics while hearing stories from this legendary curator. You’ll leave with your unique DIY comic, deep insights into the independent comic world in Seattle, and new creative skills to use at home.

There is a sense of magic in setting your sails, allowing the wind to carry you across water. I will gently encourage everyone to take a turn steering the boat, to feel the uniting force of wind and water. After all these years, I still find it enchanting. We will leave the dock at Shilshole Bay Marina, motor out past the city’s famed Golden Gardens Park, watch for sea lions loafing on the Meadow Point buoy, and then set sail, heading West across Puget Sound toward the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Along the way we will watch for orcas, schools of Dahl’s porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals, jumping salmon, bald eagles, great blue herons, cormorants, diving gulls, and other wildlife. On the Sunset Cruise we will keep a careful watch as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains, for the resulting lightshow is something you will want to capture on camera. As the sun drops behind the well-named Mount Olympus and other peaks in the range, it often illuminates the feathery horizon clouds into glorious colors. Join the Fun: Please don’t be shy about joining a cruise that already shows guests booked. It is always special when guests from different cities, states … and countries … come together to share this inspiring experience. Whichever voyage you choose -- Morning, Afternoon, or Sunset -- it is always magical to fill the sails on the beautiful waters of Puget Sound.

This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (also a few inclines for 7 minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls which we drive right up to. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.4 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

We meet at Bainbridge’s Waterfront Park at the City Dock, an easy walk from the ferry terminal and downtown. Leaving the dock, we'll pass through beautiful Eagle Harbor before raising sails. To the east you’ll see the iconic skyline of Seattle, with majestic Mount Rainier to the south, the Olympic Mountains to the west, and Mount Baker to the north. ​ Depending on the day, we’ll get up close to wildlife, explore beautiful harbors with stunning waterfront homes, and maybe even spot whales. Or we could see a nuclear submarine, inbound container ships, or century-old schooners. You'll learn about Bainbridge Island's unique history, from having the largest shipyard for wooden vessels in the West, to the earthquake that lifted a whole section of the Island 23 feet which can still be seen today, and of being the first place from which Japanese-Americans were forcibly removed from their homes during World War II. ​ You decide whether to charter the whole boat (“private” for up to six people) or share a charter with others (“social” for up to six people). Upon arrival at Snoqualmie Falls, you’ll be amazed by the 268-foot waterfall cascading into the river below. I’ll guide you to the viewing platforms, sharing stories about its cultural significance to the Snoqualmie Tribe. Next, we’ll drive to the Twin Falls trailhead for a scenic hike through lush forests along the Snoqualmie River. As we hike, I’ll point out local flora and fauna, emphasizing the importance of preserving these ecosystems. At Twin Falls, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the waterfalls plunging into the gorge.
