You can easily reach the beautiful beaches of Figueira da Foz and Coimbra (Coimbra University Unesco Humanity Heritage). Montemor-o-Velho is also worth a visit, with its medieval castle, and an excellent river beach in Ereira. Excellent place for beautiful walking tours, bird watching, ciclying or just doing nothing!

Our house is located in a beautiful area, where the Mondego River flows. There are many old villages to explore. It's a half hour drive from the endless Atlantic coast. There's a train station at the foot of the hill with regular direct trains to the university town Coimbra and the sea side town Figueira da Foz, and, with one simple transfer, to Porto and Lisbon.
