I loved the adventure of trekking even though it was only for a few hours. When given the choice between an “easy” or “hard” trek, choose the “hard” one. It is slightly strenuous (a few inclines and downward slopes), but being immersed in nature and seeing the animals is worth it. Mai was my guide and I was fortunate to have her all to myself, meaning I got to set the pace. She was very nice, patient, and informative. I enjoyed her company and felt safe, even though she made trekking seem effortless. Also, while we did “visit” villages, it isn’t an immersive cultural experience as implied by the pictures (you may want to opt for a multi-day homestay experience for that). You’re really just walking through the villages, visiting a restaurant for lunch, and walking some more. The route wasn’t heavily packed with tourists, although there were a handful of other groups towards the end. Anyway, I recommend this experience for sure!

Highly recommended. I really enjoyed the hike with Mai as well as the bath and massage. She has lots of insights into the local community, customs and plants.

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour with Su. It was of great value! We learned a a lot about Mong tradition and his own inspiring story of taking his family out of poverty. The tour was laid back and we got to see the village in its authentic setting with beautiful views. Definitely recommend !

Excellent experience - less busy , more peacefull path then the usual trail taken by most tourist . Very informative and personal . Also the lunch was generous and very good -
