I booked a guided tour of Angkor Wat and it was the highlight of my time in Cambodia. We started at sunrise, and our guide, Indiana Johns, knew the perfect quiet spot for photos before the crowds. Throughout the day they balanced history, architecture, and easy-to-follow storytelling—bringing the carvings to life and explaining symbolism I never would’ve noticed on my own.

The itinerary flowed smoothly: Angkor Wat at dawn, then the smiling faces of Bayon, and a dreamy wander through the tree-wrapped corridors of Ta Prohm. Cold water and a comfy AC vehicle between stops were a lifesaver in the heat, and the pacing was thoughtful—plenty of shade breaks and time for photos without feeling rushed.

What stood out most was the respect for local culture. Indiana Johns gently reminded us about dress and temple etiquette and answered every question with patience and pride. By the end, I felt like I’d learned a ton and seen the best angles without battling the crowds.

It’s a good experience for everyone who’d like to visit Angkor Wat. They couple of meaningful temples along with it. Some might find them repetitive but it depends on your interests.

Mr. Chong (our tour guide) was very impressive. He was friendly, helpful and made everyone feel good and comfortable. I happened to hurt my feet, he even got me couple bandages. Very sweet people.
