Our tour host, Shin, was absolutely excellent! He was punctual, incredibly knowledgeable about history, and could answer all of our questions with ease. Shin was also very mindful of keeping our group together and making sure everyone was comfortable throughout the tour.

He shared so much insight into the culture — not just facts, but also how to appreciate and respect it properly. Ending the evening at an izakaya with him was such a great experience and the perfect way to wrap up the night. He was even so kind to make sure we all got to the proper train and station we needed to before departing for the night!

Our guide was a gem. Funny and charming. Her energy was admirable. I only wished we also got to learn more of the history behind the locations we visited along with fun and uncommon facts. The host did not say much beyond what's already mentioned in the information boards at the locations.

Without a doubt one of the best day tours I’ve ever taken in my countless international trips. I was about to cancel this tour because my friend became ill the day of, but I decided to go by myself anyways and I’m so glad that I did! Our tour guide Megumi (Meg) was highly knowledge, patient, and personable. A true model for how other tour guides should aspire to be.

Although we visited many attractions throughout the day, we never felt rushed. I will genuinely recommend this tour to my family and friends as a must-do. There’s something about having a guide when visiting these shrines and temples that gives you a much deeper understanding of the culture and history, rather than visiting alone and relying on informational brochures and ChatGPT.

Disclaimer: it is a true full day of walking. I clocked in 23,000 steps with 25 flights of stairs climbed. As an athlete I was fine, but I can see it being difficult for those who aren’t used to hours of walking. Good walking shoes is a must!
