The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen (TWNF) exists to encourage the understanding, appreciation and conservation of the natural resources of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia. TWNF facilitates research and education for its members and visitors, and will serve as a host site for regional, national, and international conservation efforts. Hiking maps and trail maps may be obtained from TWNF's home base, the Trillium House at Wintergreen. Robin's Nook at Trillium House offers quiet play and resources for families to spend time together with stories, puzzles and games.

For you gardener's and naturalists, the nature foundation is a great visit. They offer hiking tours on Saturday's, have a library packed with nature books for both kids and adults. The grounds are well appointed and relaxing for a quiet spot to steal a moment or two to yourself. The staff is knowledgeable about the history of flora and fauna of the mountain. Lastly, they also sell local native plants that volunteers help propagate.
