新世界是位於天王寺公園西側的大衆繁華街區。這裏有模仿巴黎埃菲爾鐵塔建造的高達 103 米的大阪象徵塔──通天閣，以其爲中心附近娛樂場所、大衆酒樓、大衆餐館鱗次櫛比。從地面高度爲 91 米的通天閣瞭望台可一覽大阪市容。瞭望台入口處立著一個有名的美國“福神”像，據說是會給人帶來幸運的吉祥物，在它面前許個願就會心想事成。 另外，一條叫“加嗯加嗯橫丁”的小巷曾是 2 次大戰結束百廢待興時工人集聚的地方。
