This valley, on the west side of the island, is one of the most epic landscapes in Cuba. It’s famous for its mogotes, dome-like hills that cover the valley, creating a peculiar appearance. The best tobacco in the world is harvested here. The Los Jazmines Hotel has great views, but you should either hike or horseback to see the landscape up close. Many come here to see the massive “Prehistoric Mural,” a 1961 painting that tells the history of man, from sea creatures to humans. And if you’re adventurous, there’s a subterranean river in La Cueva del Indio that can be traveled by boat.

A great nice small country town 2 hours drive from Havana. Really nice nature places to visit, an Indian Cave, Valley and Tobacco Plantation.

The picturesque Viñales, located within the Parque Nacional de Viñales (Viñales National Park), is for many one of the most fascinating places in all of Cuba. The town has architectural evidence of the colonial era that adds to the environmental values that make Viñales a place of great beauty, so it is not surprising that it has been declared a National Monument in 1979.

Beautifully rural, Vinales is endowed in mogotes, large limestone cliffs covered with flat flora and plant life over a circular end, something that is very similar in Vietnam, Southeast Asia. Vinales is a national park and the most visited place in the province.
