One of the last surviving country estates within London city limits, Osterley has shown up in a number of films, including The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Belle (2013). The portrait-filled Long Gallery was used for the touching scene in which Lord Mansfield begins to accept the young Belle, introducing her to an array of British ancestors. It’s easily accessible by tube.

Beautiful house to explore. Great on weekends when they have kayaking on the lake. Check website to see what's on. Food is absolutely terrible so don't eat there.

Surrounded by gardens and parkland, Osterley is one of the last surviving country estates in London. Described by Horace Walpole as 'the palace of palaces', Osterley was created in the late 18th century by architect and designer Robert Adam to entertain and impress.

National Trust property with fantastic parklands and a lovely little cafe. They have lots of arrangements, exhibitions, guided walks and activities throughout the year.
