1 mile to Shelby Park. The park runs along the cost of the cumberland and includes bike path, running trails, playgrounds, a dog park, baseball fields, two golf courses, and a community center. A great place to run/bike or just set up a hammock by the lake and relax.

I love Shelby Park for its winding nature trails and bike paths that weave around and along the Cumberland River. Rent a bike or bring your own. There are also two golf courses, a well-staffed Nature Center, a baseball park and a good-sized lake (with sightings of a resident Golden Pheasant) plus baseball fields. Nice walk from The Cottage.

There's an 8-mile loop that is pretty flat and great for walking or running. Part of the loop goes along the beautiful Cumberland River.

It's a nice bike ride away, or convenient parking if you wish to drive..great greenway that will even take you to a water park if you want to cool off. The park is great for walking, biking, running, roller blading or just relaxing.
