Grass River Natural Area (6500 Alden Hwy, Bellaire, MI 49615, 36 mile, 45 min): boardwalk through tamarack swamp and along the Grass River. Great stop if you are headed west to the Traverse City area. Stop at the Torch Lake Beer Co. (9149 Helena Rd, Alden, MI 49612) for lunch and enjoy the quaint town and shops of Alden.
