Tommy's Mexican Restaurant

The classic Tommy’s margarita is pretty much the version that we make in almost all the bars I run. It’s a very simple, naked margarita: tequila, lime, agave, salt rim if you want it—but no orange liqueur. It’s just really simple and classic. I’ve heard that Tommy’s has one of the best tequila selections in the world. What makes drinking here special is Julio Bermejo, who is often behind the bar. If you get the chance to sit in front of Julio, that’s the way to go. He’s such an amazing guy. He really cares about what he does and is full of knowledge—he’s basically the ambassador of tequila.
This place is a San Francisco institution! All locals go here. They have a huge selection of tequila
Mexican restaurant. go for the bar / tequila selection, not the food
amazing tequila and mexican food in a noisy bustling atmosphere. They won't seat you unless all the party has arrived
Probably the best tequila bar in California. The bar is tiny so you may need to wait to grab a stool. Food is huge and heavy, not the best. Margaritas are unbeatable. Literally around the corner.
“The nicest beer/wine/liquor store in the area. Has beer/wine tastings on Friday/Saturday/Sunday's for a nominal fee.”
“It’s a wonderful place that programs a lot of foreign films, especially some really great Asian cinema, the art-house stuff. You’ll see films that are unlikely to be playing anywhere else. It’s also in one of my favorite unsung neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Outer Richmond and specifically Clement Street. I would go here in the evening, because it’s nice to eat somewhere on Clement Street afterwards. Just avoid Monday or Tuesday, though, because a lot of things are closed in this area on those days.”
“If you love pizza, you must go to Pizzetta 211 for lunch or dinner. It is a block away and they don't take reservations, but the wait isn't usually too long. Best pizza ever! (And be sure to have dessert...)”
“Go here for breakfast! Coffee / espresso drinks and delicious pastries, soups, sandwiches and salads. Grab something to heat up later for dinner also.”
