This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town and one of the closest to us. We especially late afternoons and sunsets on Llandudno.
The crowd Surfers, groups of friends, families, and tourists. Best for Picnics at sunset, frisbee, beach bats, runs on beach and surfing. Chill factor Lose-feeling-in-the legs cold! You have to be super-brave to endure the freezing water, but once in, the refreshment factor is unbeatable. Bring…
Llandudno is a safe beach to either walk or sit. You can usually park and it is customary to tip the attendant about R10. There are Lifeguards and you can rent a sunbed and umbrella for around R70 a day. You will need to take your own picnic.
Pack your own towel, beach chair, umbrella, water ,snacks and bat n ball. You may have to walk a bit as there is not a lot of parking, but its a beautiful beach so it's worth it.
“Great independent brewery right next to Hout Bay Market... a real experience!”
“Great tapas restaurant conveniently located on Constantia Nek. Tasty food served as small tasting plates (tapas). Constantia Nek is also a stop on the Open Top Bus Tour that includes a Wine tour option (colour coded Purple) that branches off from the main (blue) route.”
“Our favourite place to eat in Hout Bay. A busy place great for families . Good food and a great welcome. Eating, drinking or just having a coffee looking over the ocean .”
“Delicious tapas style food. There is also an outdoor bar out the back that sometimes has a DJ. A bit more upmarket than Hout Bay’s other restaurants. ”
“Another awesome market, this one is actually in an authentic fish factory in a working harbor. Lots of Great food, bars, live music, clothing and craft stalls. We love this one for Friday afternoons (5pm - 9pm) to grab a few drinks with friends and listen to live music - a perfect way to kick off your weekend. They have live music most weekends - just check on their website to see who's playing. From their website: "Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay is a celebration of the vibrancy, spirit and diversity of creativity and culture that make South Africa such a unique country. It provides a uniquely social shopping and eating experience in an atmosphere which is friendly, vibrant and entertaining…. and, above all, distinctly South African!"”
