A hidden gem tucked away amidst a neighborhood but packed every weekend with locals. Try to grab a bar seat if the dining room is full. Great for meat-eaters.
Very good food, slightly different fare. Reservations recommended, but if you go at 5pm you might be lucky and score a table! About a 15 minute walk, but you'll need it after! There's also a chocolate shop nextdoor that makes its own chocolate... Called Escazu.
Great out of the way restaurant in the Mordecai neighborhood. 15 minute walk.
“Locally made chocolate! Smells great too.... 15 minute walk and right next door to Stanbury Restaurant. ”
“Dine at Crawford and Son to experience delicious, straightforward and honest food that ranges from the familiar to the unexpected. This casual neighborhood restaurant, located in Raleigh's Historic Oakwood, strives to deliver depth of flavor with purposeful ingredients. Crawford and Son features a “blue plate special,” which varies week to week depending on what local ingredients are available and what five-time James Beard-nominated chef Scott Crawford is craving at the time. The menu features items such as autumn porridge, pork cheeks and beef short rib (plus a slew of desserts that are not to be passed up on under any circumstances).”
“This is our casual hang out spot. We go here to grab a burger or drink a beer with friends.”
“Quaint little coffee shop nearby with outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Pastries and seasonal beverages served.”
“Small neighborhood bar next to Yellow Dog bakery. The bar looks small when you enter but has a back outdoor seating area. Nice hangout on pleasant evening. Also, it has some fun pinball and bar games.”
