It is housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau building, with its friezes and pottery tells outside its content. It is located next to the Civic Arena and the edge of the Parco Sempione.
The exterior of the aquarium, in Art Nouveau style, compensates for the modesty of the internal attraction. Next to it you will find the Civic Arena, inaugurated by Napoleon in 1807, where chariot races were initially held. It was subsequently also used for the staging of naval battles through a flooding system, made possible by the many canals that characterized Milan in the 19th century. Today it is occasionally used for sporting events or concerts.
