Has a beautiful view on the rooftop if you can snag a seat! Don't bother with food there, this place is good for simple drinks with a view.
Stalwart pub over 3 levels with gourmet food, a cocktail bar and a busy rooftop with harbour views.
8min walk from our townhouse. Climb up the three flights of stairs to the rooftop of the Glenmore enjoy 180-degree views over Sydney Harbour. Decent food
“The Lord Nelson is a must go for either drinks, lunch, or dinner. It is a historical Sydney landmark and claims to be the oldest hotel in Australia. The bear menu is extensive with a range of beers brewed at the Lord Nelson itself. The food is arguably some of the best bar food in Sydney. ”
“2min walk from our townhouse. Modern Australian seafood. Local institution”
“One of the true hot spots in Sydney. Wine selection is reasonably wide and pricing not outrageous. There's a tasty menu of small plates and we ended up working our way throught most of them; fresh oysters, stuffed zucchini flowers, waygu sliders and chicken skewers. Service is polite and efficient. Some of the nicest views in Sydney.”
“Loud live music most nights of the week, this place is always happening. Cheap slices of pizza, or order a whole pie, the front half of the place is a pizzeria, with big booths for seating. Walk to the back of the bar and you'll find the major beer taps and a stage. If you keep walking all the way to the back, and keep the stage on your left, there's a door. Open the door and head down the stairs, and open the only door left to you - teeny tiny bar with a single bartender - and much quieter if that's what you're after. Bonus, they feed through the pizza queue tracker, so you can watch for your number to be called when you're pizza's ready.”
“8min walk from our townhouse. Bavarian-style bier hall bring a little taste of Munich to the historic laneways of The Rocks. Dishes up huge plates of sausages and pork knuckle best washed down with a one-litre stein of Bavaria’s finest.”
