...this is just an excuse to see the studio of the most expensive artist of our time, Gerhard Richter. The studio is on top of the building and you can see his name on the door bell. Here he did the majority of the works you may know of him (remember the cover for Sonic Youth iconic record, yes, the candle was done there too), today his wife uses the studio for her own work. Richter today lives in the south of the city in a villa district called Hahnwald where he also has his studio adjunct to his house - who wouldn't want it that way if you could. Sigmar Polke also had a studio (Raderthal) here, both were extremely important for the art scene of the 1960s in Germany. Du
