The picnic area has a large parking lot, great place to park since the visitor center lot often get crowded. From here you can access the trail to Craggy Gardens, a mountain bald with beautiful views.

Craggy Gardens picnic area is a great place to stop off for a packed lunch before taking an easy hike along the Craggy Garden Path. This is family friendly. Our 2- and 4-year-old girls hiked up to the open meadow and back to the picnic area no problem. The views are incredible and in the spring, the flowers are breathtaking.
