Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden
A total gem, inspirational, insightful and a real haven for any artists or folk who like to get to the heart of the place they’re staying.
One of the best things to do in St. Ives is visit the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden. This was her home in Cornwall and it's a magical place to visit, where you can really feel the artist and see her garden studio...just as she left it!
Small yet delightful museum and garden that was formerly Barbara Hepworth's home and studio. Perfect coupled with a potter around St Ives town and harbour.
“Well worth a visit for a bit of art and incredible beach views. The light really is different in St Ives, so it's easy to see why so many artists have been drawn there over the years. ”
“Fresh Fish, great informal vibe, friendly knowledgeable staff. And you get to choose whichever fish you want from the display fridge, how to have it cooked and what sauces or other bits you want with it. Pretty good value though not obviously a cheap place. Best thing though is it is probably the nearest restaurant to the flat.....right out of the door...across the road and along Barnoon Terrace, admiring the views across the harbour to your left, then left and down all the steps at the end on your left...it is right opposite you at the bottom. ”
“Great surf beach, surf school based here. Great summer cafe on west beach. ”
“Book a window table. Lovely, slightly different from the norm, food. Great location on the harbour front.”
