“SUMMARY: A sandwich shop like no other, puts the Subway ch-ch-chain to sh-sh-shame. Seriously, I can't go to Subway anymore, I'm a born-again-NYCsub eater. FOOD: They offer a short list of quintessential sandwiches, including grilled meats. My favorite: The Bronx (grilled turkey&cheese). Also, legendary fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies that have been known to walk themselves into your mouth. DRINK: Sodas on tap or in cans. AMBIANCE: Small café, seating upstairs loft, or outside on sidewalk. Great friendly staff.”

“Farm Stand is an organic market and cafe. This is the best place for specialty diets. They have Kombucha on tap and bullet proof coffee. ”

“Check their website for the latest offerings - my personal favorite is their "Sense of Place" lecture series, but you can catch theatre, dance and musical performances as well. A great after-theatre dinner can be had at Celilo Restaurant & Bar right around the corner: 16 Oak Street Hood River. Their farm to table-inspired cuisine always includes the freshest local produce and protein available. An elegant dinner, but worth the price.”
