Located in East Village, this legendary house of blues was rebuilt brick by brick as part of the rejuvenation of the neighborhood and as part of the National Music Center (and heart of the Music Mile). Catch some live music and southern style food. Great cocktails, too.

The King Eddy originally opened in 1905 on what was then referred to as Whisky Row. This workingman’s hotel & bar saw the rise of Calgary and was the first desegregated bar in the city. In the 80s the Eddy became known as a live music venue, dubbed “Calgary’s home of the blues”, welcoming some of the greats, such as John Hammond, Buddy Guy, Pintetop Perkins and Otis Rush. After being condemned, the National Music Centre acquired the building to restore it and anchor its new facility around it. It has been restored and given a new life once again as a live music venue. Over Stampede it hosts The Bell Live Series with several live shows complete with local craft beer & burgers!

Check out the Bell Live Series at the King Eddy for 10 days of foot-stompin’ tunes. From July 8 to 17, the King Eddy will be transformed into a pop-up country bar with real-deal western music: classic country, rockabilly, bluegrass, western-swing, and Americana.
