If you are visiting Charlotte going to the White Water Center is a definite must. Parking is $5 for the day. You can hike the trails or walk around the center to view the activities. If you choose to do the activities such as trail biking, zip lining, white water rafting, kayaking, paddle…
35 min drive away. Fun place to go for water sports in a controlled environment, and they also have zip lining and rock walls. They is the summertime, they hold concerts.
We love this place even if you do not want to participate in activities. IN the warmer months they have live music on Thursdays and Saturdays.

So much outdoor activities for all ages! This is also the US Olympic Team's training course for white water rafting. They do have a nice restaurant & gift shop onsite. Parking is $5.00/car. There is no charge to walk around the facility, watch activities or ride bikes.
This is great for families and groups. One of my favorite places in Charlotte! There's so much more than just whitewater rafting. They also have a great concert series and numerous events.
The U.S. National White Water Center is a perfect day trip for active families. They have ropes corses, white water rafting, rock climbing, and great food and local brews. Enjoy concerts on the green at night. Check out the website for the schedule.
Enjoy whitewater rafting and kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, deep water solo, rock climbing, ziplines, ropes courses, and mountain biking on 50+ mile trail system. River jam live music festivals and beer gardens during summer months. A great time to be had just a short 25min drive south.
About a 30 minute drive but well worth it! Tons of activities, or just chill by the river with great food and drinks!
There is more to do here then just white water rafting including live music.
Also available is zip lining, canoeing in the river, wall rock climbing bicycling or hiking on the trails and more.
