Vrana Park was established in the XX century and is located 11 km from the center of Sofia. It was intended as an out-of-town residence for the royal family.

Vrana Park was created under the influence of European landscape parks. For more than 40 years, the park's creators have managed to build a magnificent park ensemble. For this purpose, they use ornamental vegetation as a "building material". Impressive is the great diversity of 821 tree, shrub and grass species from 118 families and 435 genera on an area of less than 100 ha. All this determines its high artistic value as one of the first works of park art in Bulgaria.

A nice park with over 800 different trees, flowers.. and a castle (not opened) from Tzar Ferdinand, built in the beginning of 20th century. A nice place to have a walk and relax in the nature. Approx. 15 km from us. Very beautiful nature colors in the spring April-May.

These are the grounds of the stately home of the aristocrat Simeon II, who was Tsar of Bulgaria from 1943-46 before going into exile. After returning he was prime minister from 2001-05. The estate is only open on weekends and you can’t enter any of the buildings, but the landscaped gardens are one of the most tranquil settings in Sofia. Multilingual guided tours take place every hour and offer fun snippets about the palace and its grounds. For instance the estate once had an exotic menagerie, including Bulgaria’s first elephants, which were used for yardwork in the grounds!
