Located in the South Mountain Preserve, Dobbins Lookout has one of the best view points in Phoenix. You could see Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix and surrounding neighborhoods. Not in the mood to hike? You could drive all the way to the summit. And the sunset at South Mountain is not to be missed.

14 miles , 38 min drive. Top Rated Spot for views of the entire Phoenix area ! You can drive all the way up to the Dobbins Lookout so hiking is not necessary. Access is easy and the curvy road gives an adventurer's touch seeing the rocks, saguaros and wild rabbits moving around. Plenty of parking, although this can be crowded specially before sunset, which happens to be the best time to be there. Make sure you cross the doors before 7:00 pm during summer time or they will keep you out. Bring water with you !

Nice lookout in South Mountain that gives views of the entire city. You can hike to the lookout via Holbert Trail (easy to moderate hike) or drive. There is plenty of parking at the Holbert trailhead if you chose this route.
