Catawba Brewing Company South Slope Asheville
Located in the brewery-filled South Slope part of Downtown Asheville, this is a favorite local watering hole. Right next to Buxton Hall BBQ and Vortex Donuts. Need I say more?!
Good variety of beers. Free live music both inside and out. If you’re a bird lover during the warmer months, you can watch the chimney swifts spiral down into the chimney across the street from the deck at dusk.
Great beer selection. Always have a food truck on site. Great BBQ spot next door. Close to many other breweries.
“If you enter downtown Asheville via Charlotte Street, you will be greeted by Green Man Brewery's "GreenMansion," a 3-story 20,000 square foot packaging hall, retail shop and top floor tasting room with views of the mountains. Green Man was established in 1997, and is known as one of the original craft breweries in Asheville along with Highland Brewing. You can visit Green man's original location (known as "Dirty Jack's") on Buxton Ave, just a quick walk from the GreenMansion. This is also the location where Green Man beer is brewed.”
“One of Dennis’s favorites. Really diverse beers, BigAss fan (yes, that’s what it’s called) and games inside. Small hidden, quiet outside area if you want to get away from all the crowds. ”
“Hi-Wire is open every afternoon with four-year round beers: Prime Time Pale Ale, Hi-Pitch IPA, Bed of Nails Brown Ale and a pilsner lager, Hi-Wire Lager. They also offer seasonal. Their location by Biltmore Village is where they brew their beer.”
“Also one of the most creative breweries that started from the most humble beginnings. I haven't checked out the new in-house food, but this place is at the top of my list for good beer!”
