Hop off HWY 5 at Wakefield, and be sure to stop by the Wakefield Bakery. Homemade, fresh croissants, donuts and assorted treats are well worth the detour.

In business since the early 1900’s, there’s a great selection of daily baked goods (order ahead for pickup of popular items) including breads, desserts, meals, snacks (a few tables for dine-in), beverages and various locally-produced food. One of my more recent favorites is their breakfast sandwich.
