The Piscina Mirabilis was a freshwater cistern on the Bacoli cliff at the western end of the Gulf of Naples, southern Italy. One of the largest freshwater cisterns built by the ancient Romans, it was situated there in order to provide the Roman western imperial fleet at Portus Julius with drinking water.

Piscina mirabilis is a Roman archaeological monument located in the municipality of Bacoli, in the area of the Flegrei Fields, and is included in the metropolitan city of Naples. Built in the Augustan era at Miseno, on the northwest side of the Gulf of Naples, it was originally a drinking water tank. In 2016, the archaeological site recorded 11,100 visitors. Entry is free.

This is a spectacular underwater Roman Baths really worth a visit if you are in the area. You can combine a visit to Bacoli and Pozzuoli and see the volcano and the Piscina in the same day.
