Learn the ancient craft of Mayan embroidery in Tipikal

Learn the centuries-old Maya tradition of embroidery with a UNESCO-recognized guardian of Maya embroidery, and immerse yourself in the rich textile traditions of Yucatán. No previous sewing experience is required. We will start with a warm welcome and introduction to the cultural and historical significance of Maya embroidery. You will be introduced to the techniques and materials we’ll use in the workshop. You'll learn about a variety of rescue stitches from xokbil chuuy, deshilado, x’manikté, siinta chuuy, arreves chuuy, molmis, and henequén stitch, and you’ll practice a unique stitch under Fidelia's expert guidance to work on your embroidery project. As you work, hear about the symbolic meanings behind traditional Maya designs, and discuss the impact of embroidery on the lives of the women in the Tipikal cooperative. We will begin our adventure by meeting at the designated point at 6:00 a.m. We’ll set off early to be the first to arrive at Chichén Itzá. In fact, we might get there before the gates even open, ensuring we’re ready to enter well ahead of the crowds. This way, we’ll also avoid the heat. After you explore and take in the wonders of this ancient Mayan city, we’ll head either to a small local market or to a regional restaurant to enjoy traditional regional cuisine. Following this, we’ll drive 35 minutes to the home of a family fortunate enough to have a cenote on their property. This cenote, though open to the public, is rarely visited and incredibly beautiful. It features stalactites, stalagmites, and underground caves that extend into depths yet to be fully explored. After the cenote, we’ll visit the magical city of Izamal, also known as the Yellow City, one of the most iconic towns in Yucatán. Here, we’ll explore the Convent of San Antonio de Padua, the grand pyramid of Kinich Kakmó, and some artisan shops. *I’m not allowed to guide people inside the archaeological site, as there is currently a policy that only official guides are permitted to do so. However, I can arrange for the group to have a private official guide for a lower cost than the official price. For example, in a group of 5 people, each person would only need to contribute $8 USD to cover the guide’s fee.

You will enjoy a two and a half hour bike ride in a safe, fun and unhurried way in one of the most beautiful and peaceful cities in the world: Mérida. We will start at Paseo Montejo avenue to pick up our bicycles and ride through bicycles lanes where I will tell you the secret history of the beautiful mansions and the explanation of the monuments found on this boulevard. We will head to the historic center, pausing for a refreshing fruit drink at my favorite place. Then we will continue to the new and amazing park of “La “Plancha” just three minutes away from Montejo through the gastronomic 47 street. You will learn about the history of railroads and henequén there. On our way, I will give you my personal recommendation of the most relaxed, beautiful, not so expensive places to eat, have a drink and listen to good live music.

Enjoy Chichenitza with a professional tourist guide

Wi will enjoy the experience of learning about the Mayas for at least 2 hours of private service information with an history major and oficial tourist guide with over 30 years of experience in one of the new wonders the one and only Chichenitza. To make the experience much better I can purchase the tickets ( entrance fees at not included not Mexicans adults 671 pesos kids between 3 and 13 years 100 and for Mexicans with official id 285 pesos) before you arrive in order to avoid a long line and to save time . Will meet t the main entrance of chichenitza outside of the main entrance under a tached roof hut that is on the right hand side of the main parking lot.. The suggested time it's at 8.30 but depending where you are staying playa del Carmen Cancún Valladolid Mérida or a hotel nearby the beginning of the experience will be always adjustable. Then we will start the experience at the north section of the site in front of the temple of Kukulcán from there we will admire the great Ball court continue to the sacred cenote on our way to the south of the City will pass by the temple of the warriors then we head to the observatory the nunnery and the church.

My goal with this experience is to help people that are interested in Real Estate in Merida and the Yucatan Beach to get more information regarding the neighborhoods in Merida or along the Yucatan Gulf Coast. My intent is to help people aquire the knowledge and tools to either rent or buy property in the Yucatan. We will meet at my office in Centro a few blocks from Paseo de Montejo. We will discuss your particular needs and wants and talk about the standard operating procedures that are expected here in the Yucatan in regards to real estate. We will address capital gains issues as well as the how important it is to have a good lawyer and their role in a successful real estate transaction. If their is time, we will then do computer searches to help gain understanding of market value and what makes a property unique and if it's a good fit for you and your needs. We will talk about trends and standard real estate practices and how they affect foreigners looking to live in Merida. This experience will last at about two hours.
