Love Lane, is a lane within the inner city of George Town. Today it forms the boundary between the core and buffer zones of the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site. It runs from Farquhar Street, through Muntri Street, to Chulia Street. There is no complete agreement as to how Love Lane got its name. There is a belief that it was named after a British officer named Love, but this has not been verified. Another belief is that it was the site for early 19th century brothels for sailors and soldiers. The adjacent road, Muntri Street, was where the rich Straits Chinese lived, and it is widely believed that these men kept their mistresses along Love Lane.

Kek Lok Si Temple is one of the most popular temples in Penang. Clan Jetties located along the Weld Quay are Penang's historical clan jetties, home to families of traders, fishermen and dock workers. Fort Cornwallis is a bastion fort in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, built by the British East India Company in the late 18th century.

Roti Kahwin for the uninitiated is a dish of toasted bread, butter and kaya (coconut jam). The bread at Luan Fong Kopitiam is perfectly fluffy and airy, allowing the creamy kaya spread complement it. Pair yours with a cup of coffee and dunk your toast in like the locals do. The bitter brew of the coffee gives the sweet jam a totally different flavour profile! Address: Luan Fong Kopitiam Roti Kahwin, Lorong Bagan Luar 3, Butterworth, Penang Opening Hours: Thursday to Tuesday, 730am to 6pm

Beso Rosado is both a restaurant and speakeasy bar that's probably one of our favourite nighttime spots in Penang. Originally known as Golden Shower, the place has replaced its original gold bathroom storefront with a graffiti-covered alleyway that now leads you into the actual restaurant - an upscale Wes Anderson-esque dining spot with elegant pink, white and gold interior. Led by Excecutive Chef Jack Yeap, the restaurant offers a Mediterranean-influenced menu. Enjoy quirky and playful cocktails from their bar menu to complement your meals as you indulge in their best offerings of Spanish fine dining and an open kitchen concept. Do get your money’s worth by snapping up a couple of IG-worthy shots as well in this elegantly designed restaurant! You can now enjoy 10 % off set menus for 2 or for 4 people, inclusive of a glass of wine. Hameediyah Restaurant is no stranger to the locals here, as well as to any nasi kandar fan, especially with the fact that they've been in business for over a 100 years, making the eatery the oldest nasi kandar seller in Penang and remains strongly as one of the best! Some of their signature dishes we'd personally recommend are the duck curry, beef rendang, ayam kapitan as well as mutton kurma. Address: 164, Lebuh Campbell, 10100 George Town, Pulau Pinang

Look forward to trying out traditional Malay recipes with a twist at Lagenda House and Cafe. Established in honour of Penang's beloved musician and actor P. Ramlee, dig into local and fusion dishes here as you listen to his nostalgic music being played in the background. Some of our recommendations would be their signature rice sets with side dishes uniquely served in congkak game boards, the Indonesian Gado-Gado, as well as the Banana Bakar.
