Maenporth Beach is one of the best beaches in Falmouth and well worth the short drive/commute to visit. There is a newly opened cafe, toilets and 'The Cove Restaurant' at Meanporth is fantastic. I would recommend this beach for Kayaking, they usually have kayaks on hire from the beach cafe.

Pendennis Castle is one of England’s finest surviving coastal fortresses. Together with the fortress at St Mawes, Pendennis guarded the anchorage of Carrick Roads and the port towns below for over 400 years. The castle began as a gun fort in the mid-16th century. Bastioned defences were added in the 1590s following the threat of Spanish invasion and were periodically updated, notably during the Second World War when the guns again saw action. A great place to visit - along with Pendennis Headland being a fantastic route for a run or walk. 'The Point' at Pendennis offers Ice Creams and a coffee stop, along with parking and some of the best views in Falmouth so certainly worth a visit. PS - Don't forget to pull into the layby on approach to Pendennis headland to have a view of the working dockyard, still one of Falmouth major employers, serving some of the largest boats due to Falmouth being of the deepest natural harbours in the world!

Based on Falmouth harbour, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall celebrates the sea, boats and Cornwall. The museum is one of the UK’s leading tourist destinations. Its mission is to promote the understanding of boats, their place in people’s lives and the maritime heritage of Cornwall. It does this through special exhibitions, talks, lectures, workshops and other events, well worth a visit on a rainy day!

On the opposite side of the River Fal to Falmouth sits the seaside town of St Mawes. One of our favourite days out - you can get a return boat ride over to St Mawes all year round, taking just 20-minutes each way, a great way to get a view of Falmouth from the water! Being positioned within the gulf stream, the climate in St Mawes and on the Roseland Peninsula is very mild all year round and during the summer temperatures reach that of the Mediterranean, as a result there are beautiful local gardens throughout the Roseland with exquisite fauna and flora. Well worth a daytrip!

300m walk from the apartment - great pub that serves breakfast, so ideal for a breakfast on the go. Likewise, the pub itself has a great vibe and the dinner menu is also worth visiting. If you don't fancy the 5-minute walk into town, then this pub is well worth it's visit.

Falmouth and the hills with pushchairs.

From our apartment in Clare Terrace, you can easily access the town centre and beaches - I would recommend that you avoid the 'Jacobs Ladder' route into town centre unless you fancy a good workout as it includes 111 steps! The preferred route with pushchairs would be to take of the many routes into town heading past the Seaview Inn pub which is situated along Clare Terrace.
