Visit Manhattan's movie locations with a filmmaker

Take a walk through Midtown Manhattan filming locations with me, a location scout and manager. I’ll share my inside knowledge on finding, securing, and delivering the perfect settings to create unforgettable scenes on the big screen. • Walk to the Central Park locations of the taxi sequence from Die Hard With a Vengeance, and then to the fountain where Adam Sandler took his infamous swim in Uncut Gems. • At Carnegie Hall, I’ll reveal the locations used in Maestro, including the apartment building across the street, where Leonard Bernstein once lived. In the Diamond District, we’ll visit various diamond exchanges and I’ll explain why we chose one over the others for Uncut Gems. • Finally, head to Times Square to discuss the empty scene in Vanilla Sky and the crowded scene in Birdman, including a Broadway theater and Bar. You’ll leave with an insider’s understanding of the locations process, as well as an appreciation for its role in creating memorable films.

Before Stonewall: A queer walking tour of Greenwich Village

Join a journalist on a walking tour of Greenwich Village, visiting the homes and haunts of LGBTQ+ writers who lived, worked or were incarcerated in the decades before the Stonewall riots. • We'll meet up near the site of Eve's Hangout, considered by some to be the first lesbian bar in New York City and whose proprietor holds a special place in queer literary history. As we walk to other historic sites we'll hear more about the nightlife scene of the early 20th century, and how luminaries like Audre Lorde and Lorraine Hansberry navigated queer life. • We'll visit the former site of the Women’s House of Detention, which housed many incarcerated queer people, and I'll share its relevance to early LGBTQ+ life in the Village. • After stops to honor and consider other queer women whose literary works left lasting impressions on both our culture and the literary canon, we'll conclude at Henrietta Hudson, a lesbian bar open since 1991, to talk about present-day LGBTQ+ life in New York and beyond. You'll gain a deeper understanding of the lives of LGBTQ+ people whose work, activism and bravery led to the modern queer rights movement, and I'll send you on your way with a list of further readings if you'd like to continue learning about this fascinating era! The tour has a bathroom break at the halfway mark, and we'll walk about 1.5 miles in total.

*GROUP DISCOUNTS FOR 2+ PEOPLE* Learn the basics of stained glass copper foil technique and go home with your own stained glass suncatcher you made yourself! The workshop includes instruction on how to design and structure your piece, create a pattern + template, cut glass, use a diamond grinder, apply and burnish copper foil, and assemble and solder the pieces together. Great for couples, groups and team-building! Copper foil is a great intro to the art of stained glass, but it is time consuming. You may choose from existing templates in the studio (we highly recommend this!) or create your own design - I will help modify it based on skill level and timing. Designs should be hand-sized and no more than 11 individual pieces; contact me for template examples. A very simple suncatcher takes many hours to create, so please be sure to follow our design guidelines and limitations and know this going in. Proper safety precautions will be taught in each step and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided along w/ all materials. Masks are not required, but are highly recommended for the soldering step to block the fumes. This is a 2nd-floor studio so you will be need to be able to climb a flight of stairs. If you are booking in a colder season, make sure you wear layers (though the barn is heated). There is no food allowed for safety reasons unless kept and ate outside.

As we go, I will capture your authentic and raw moments using my 35mm film camera, preserving the magic in a timeless, unique and one of a kind format, in a way that only film can. Whether you are a seasoned pro or a novice in front of the camera, I will guide you through the process, helping you to feel comfortable and confident as we create beautiful, candid images together. After the experience, I will develop and scan your photos, sending you a digital copy of 15 images within a week (longer if black and white) so you can relive the magic of your time in New York City for years to come. Make your own Signature Cocktail with a Pro Bartender

First we'll have a little chat about cocktails. I want to know your experience and interest in the field. Are you a complete novice looking to make more informed cocktail choices? Are you a professional who wants to push their knowledge to the next level? Somewhere in between? This can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes, and will include a little context from my part about where the Old Fashioned comes from. I'll also make you an old fashioned so you can experience it from every sense! After a briefing on tools and ingredients, you make your own! You can either go off one of my recipes, or take my ingredients and get creative. This part can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes. Depending on experience I have a multitude of ingredients we can choose from, so you won't necessarily be limited to one. Lastly, we cheers! Everyone takes their original Old-Fashioned recipe, and we celebrate our new appreciation for a timeless classic.
