Taste premium Greek olive oils nearby an ancient tree

Become an olive oil sommelier for a day and learn the art of olive oil appreciation from a fourth-generation olive farmer and certified taster. • We’ll meet at the 2,500-year-old Pisistratus Olive Tree, believed to be one of the oldest olive trees in the world, and talk about the rich history of olive oil. • Next, we’ll sit down at a nearby restaurant to taste a selection I’ve curated of premium olive oils from all over Greece. • I’ll help you evaluate each oil by sight, smell, and taste. You’ll learn to distinguish flavor profiles and how to pair the oils with Greek culinary staples. You’ll leave knowing how to identify high-quality olive oil, and with a small bottle of premium oil to take home to remind you of your time in Greece.

Traditional Wines of Ancient & Modern Greece

Welcome to a 90-minute curated tasting experience unlike any other in Athens. Α sensory journey through Greek history, culture, and craftsmanship, guided by Anton, whose life’s work has been devoted to flavour, hospitality, and heritage. Your Experience 1. A Warm Welcome & Historical Introduction (15 mins) Guests are welcomed into a cozy, hand-built wooden wine and olive oil bar in a quiet corner of central Athens. The session opens with an engaging story: the origins of Greek wine, from Homeric epics to ancient amphorae, setting the tone for the experience. 2. Tasting the Present: 3 Iconic Modern Wines (30 mins) You’ll be seated at a rustic counter where Anton introduces you to three cutting-edge Greek wines: A volcanic Assyrtiko a grape that originats from Santorini island, sharp, saline, and mineral-rich. A structured rosé from a rare Aegean varietals, vibrant yet refined. A natural red wine made in Amphora, grown in small plots, expressive of place and process. Each wine is poured with insight—stories of the land, winemaker, and method—all brought to life with Anton’s sommelier background and storytelling flair. 3. Tasting the Past: Wines of Antiquity (20 mins) Next, you’ll sample two wines inspired by ancient winemaking techniques. Anton explains the clay vessels, the spontaneous fermentations, and the myths and rituals surrounding ancient Greek wine

The no 1 Airbnb experience in all of Greece! Discover the most authentic and fresh, traditional Athenian food in non tourist areas and hidden spots of Athens! The places you may not find alone! Visit local streets and see, taste and shop for cheese, cured meat, fruits, sweets and spices in the markets full of colour, scents and noise. Sample olives, oil and honey from a farmer and local barrel wine made on the tavernas premises. On tours starting at 3.00pm , the fish and meat market are starting to close so we go quickly to see as much as possible. On Sundays and weekly tours starting after 3.30pm markets ARE SHUT so on this tour we will visit a taverna and eat traditional Athenian food and go to a spice shop and a honey and olive oil producer to taste these amazing products! We will enjoy a fantastic deli with a cured meat and cheese tasting and sample Greek coffee and fruits from a local producer. Many tastings offered including sit down meals of meat and fish on all our tours, as you learn about Greek culture from people who live it daily. You will have many friends in Athens at the end of this experience! Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available however, vegan options NOT available on Sundays.
