The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Yurt dwelling is indescribably peaceful. Our property is 150 acres, off an end-state maintenance road, though just a 20 minute drive off interstate 81 or to the quaint town of Floyd, or the VT area. This 24' yurt is beautifully modern with a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom/ shower, TV and (high speed) wi-fi, and comfortable sleeping and hangout spaces- surrounded by acres of streams, trails and natural beauty. Enjoy the views, farm fresh food, local hiking and swimming holes, or if it's cold, cozy up by the wood stove! We offer sliding scale farm-to-table dinners on weekends. We love sharing our farmstead with guests and also understand if guests prefer tranquil time to themselves. We are a 20 min drive to Dragon's Tooth, and 10 minutes to VA42 (Kelly Knob or the Keffer Oak).

The Gardener's Cabin at Bent Oaks Manor

The Gardener's Cabin is the perfect "pitstop" centrally located in Roanoke's historic Old Southwest District, approximately one mile from the center of Downtown Roanoke. It provides up to two guests with a safe, private and convenient place to spend a night or two while enjoying Roanoke. This 200 square foot bungalow is situated in a secluded courtyard behind Bent Oaks Manor and once housed the family's gardener when the property was built in 1910. One dog permitted.

Walnut Hills Farm

Restored 1900 farmhouse with high end finishes with a babbling brook and view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front porch. Wedding venue, Appalachia Hills, is next door. Walnut Hills is situated between Rocky Mount and Roanoke offering music and other entertainment at the Harvester and Berglund Centers. Franklin County has scenic roads for cycling enthusiasts with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good hiking destinations are nearby.
