Diehards line up 24/7 for the cheesesteaks served up at this no-frills veteran spot. Serving the best cheesesteak in Philly, Geno's is your #1 place to get the famous Philly cheesesteak. Nothing but the best ingredients. Come see us, 24/7!

Philly cheese steak is synonymous with Geno's in South Philly and neighboring Pat's (which I like more). This is a must. I would recommend an Uber or Lyft to get there and then enjoy walking around the neighboring Italian Market.

You can't come to Philly without trying an authentic Philly cheesesteak "wit or witout" onions. Try Pat's Steaks across the street from Geno's to compare which is better. Jim's Steaks on 400 South St. is another option.

Local Fave. So it’s a friendly competition between Pat’s steaks. Their stores literally face each other. So you have to buy a steak from each place and weigh in on this debate. Whose is the best

“The Liberty Bell, previously called the State House Bell or Old State House Bell, is an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once placed in the steeple of the Pennsylvania State House (now renamed Independence Hall), the bell today is located in the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park. The bell was commissioned in 1752 by the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly from the London firm of Lester and Pack (known subsequently as the Whitechapel Bell Foundry), and was cast with the lettering "Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof", a Biblical reference from the Book of Leviticus (25:10). The bell first cracked when rung after its arrival in Philadelphia, and was twice recast by local workmen John Pass and John Stow, whose last names appear on the bell. In its early years, the bell was used to summon lawmakers to legislative sessions and to alert citizens about public meetings and proclamations.”

“I love their outdoor seating stools...they seem to have struggled keeping kitchen staff, and their menu often changes. Only serving domestic beer and liquor, lately the sidewalk scene has been hijacked by a group of early 30s something parents with one kid who think being a parent is the hardest job in the world...I have five kids, and I think having one kid only barely qualifies you as a parent. But if you want to park your stroller and bring your dog that is a residual from when you were single, it's a good spot to meet other parents. ”
