Upscale Barbeque in Downtown Raleigh. Evreything on the menu is great and very conveniently located. Fairly casual.
Great spot for those craving authentic NC BBQ. Very easy to access with Citrix Cycle bikes - there is a station about 1 block away from the restaurant.
This Pit is in the Warehouse District. Located right next to Boxcar, the chocolate factory, and Crank Arm Brewing.
The Pit makes no bones about it, this barbecue place serves everything but the squeal. Housed in a meatpacking warehouse from the 1930s in downtown Raleigh, the restaurant, like the menu, honors the past but pushes into the present. Steeped in Eastern-style 'cue, The Pit cooks up a few whole hogs…
“The North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh serves the people of North Carolina and all visitors as a top destination for compelling encounters with art, inside and out. A stunning permanent collection, and high-profile traveling exhibitions come through here. The sculpture garden is vast and modern. If you are lucky enough to be here in summer, their summer music series is contemporary, bustling, and the setting is gorgeous. Bring a picnic. If you plan to imbibe, buy your alcohol there, they don’t let you haul it in. ”
“So so fun! A bar with an arcade where you can play pacman or pinball. A citrix cycle bikeshare station is 1-block from this location.”
“North Carolina’s most visited museum and the largest institution of its kind in the southeast, including a living collection and butterfly garden.”
“A great starting point for a beer crawl in downtown Raleigh! Afterward, visit the other bars nearby like Cornerstone. ”
“This incredibly friendly tavern themed pub is one of my absolute favorites. They have great Monday 4$ pint night specials and great pub food too. Outdoor seating is dog friendly too! Very good decorating inside, here the locals can earn a 'pint plate' to stick on the wall if they drink a certain amount of beers, and the place is filled with them. You could spend a week and throw out your neck reading all the funny things people put on them. HUGE beer menu, and incredibly friendly staff. I had an amazing Bourbon Barrel Stout that knocked my socks off here, and all of their ales are incredible. I think they have about 150 beers on tap here, so selection is surely not a problem. Parking decks very close by, so finding a space is a piece of cake. Order an app of any kind, or anything with their beer cheese on it. It's all fantastic!”
