We have an amazing zoo here in Houston and if you are coming with family I recommend checking it out. There is also a little place to rent paddle boats for pretty cheap right outside the zoo.
Check out the zoo Parents Magazine named one of the "10 Best Zoos" in the nation. In addition to a special children's zoo and an aquarium filled with exotic aquatics, the zoo's Natural Encounters facility gives kids a "nose to nose" experience with animals.
Houston has one of the best zoos in the country. Be sure to feed the giraffes while you're there!
It’s a large zoo. Can take a few hours to walk through. Every year they come up with a new theme for the kids. During Christmas they turn it into a zoo of light at night. It’s a must see
I love the zoo! It’s large and interactive. The animals are so incredible and active if you catch them at the right time. I love the giraffe feedings at 11am and 2pm($7) I always pack a lunch and find a nice spot to picnic, usually in the primates section. I recommend bringing some shades or a hat,…
Great for families. Hermann Park also offers paddle boating (seasonal), a train ride for the kids, Shakespeare in the park (seasonal), and plenty of outdoor space to play
The Houston Zoo is open all year long, check out their website and see what special events they are hosting for families!
“This is my favorite museum in Houston. You will find in their 2 buildings and one sculpture garden, more than 10.500 pieces from ancient Rome and Babilonia, India, Korea, China, and European classical art, to contemporary American painters and photographers.”
“This museum has it all – a dinosaur hall, planetarium, IMAX theater, and butterfly exhibit. I’ve always enjoyed the gemstone collection. Parking can be a nightmare since the zoo is close-by. I’d Uber there instead.”
“NRG is where the Texans play. There are tons of concerts and events year-round. The venue is also where the rodeo is held every year. You can walk a few blocks down and catch the train over to NRG or take an $8-10 Uber ride. ”

Kids can run their own city and compile their own TV news reports at Kidtropolis, make their own gadgets in the Invention Convention exhibit, and check out the forces of hydropower at FlowWorks. And for children three years and younger, Tot Spot provides a fun-filled wonderland of invigorating activities for infants and toddlers.”
