Toro Bravo is a Spanish restaurant in NE Portland, Oregon created by restaurateur chef John Gorham. The menu of pinchos, tapas, charcuteria, and raciones changes daily based on seasonal variations, local farmers' produce, and the kitchen crew's inspiration, incorporating elements of modern technique and unexpected flavors into classic Spanish cuisine. The beverage program focuses on both the Pacific Northwest and Spain with wine, beer, imaginative cocktails and a large selection of sherry. The open dining room of wood and industrial accents and Sangria Red walls helps create the lively and vibrant atmosphere that has secured Toro Bravo as one of Portland’s favorite restaurants since opening in 2007. In 2013, Gorham released The Toro Bravo Cookbook brimming with irreverent stories and nearly one hundred recipes, which has since been venerated by chefs, home cooks, and national media alike.
One of my favorite Spanish tapas restaurants in town. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. Worth trying everything but order a couple of things at a time as the portions are surprising
This tapas style restaurant is one of my favorites, excellent food and very conveniently located. Be prepared to wait up to an hour for a table, unless you get the for the first seating at 5pm.

No reservations, but if you’re there when they open its usually possible to snag a table! (It’s worth it)
“Ox is perhaps our favorite restaurant in Portland. It offers amazing a diverse menu packed with rich flavorful dishes. Start with the Grandma Agnes pickle cocktail--sounds weird but its fantastic and they are known for this drink. I love the flank steak...but you can't go wrong with this menu. NOTE: arrive at 4:45 to get your name in or you may not get a seat.”
