The Venice Beach Boardwalk
There are lots of artists, writers, and creative people who live in Venice, and I think that's what makes it special. It’s also a fantastic place to walk on the beach, bike, or skateboard to clear your head before a writing session. As a writer, I think you need to connect with your environment, and there’s nothing like an ocean breeze to inspire. Once you've gained inspiration from Venice’s natural beauty, hop inside Intelligentsia on Abbot Kinney to grab a coffee and start writing, or get your sugar fix from Salt and Straw or Blue Star donuts.

This is one of my favorite places along the beach here in LA. It is home to many venues, stores, artists, a skate board park not to be missed, and an informal drum circle on the beach Sunday afternoons. And always the beach!
Lots of shops and people and boardwalk acts and antics for your entertainment. Food, gift shops, unique art, henna tattoos, real tattoos, muscle beach, etc...
Interesting people watching with entertaining street performers. You can drink and eat at laid back beach bar or choose a fine dining restaurant . Very hip and trendy. The beach bike path goes for miles and there is something for all ages

“Outdoor shopping scene. It has everything. A nice walk, crowded on the weekends.”
“Free! Just pay for parking. Majestic hilltop buildings, the art is Ok, the traveling collections can be great, but the real attraction is the space and gardens themselves. Must not miss!”
