Okay okay, most locals love hating on one of our most well-known 'local' companies, but we think the Reserve Roastery experiential retail is actually kind of cool to check out. Maybe consider passing on the Pike Place location though?

Seattle Roastery, the first Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle's vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood since December 2014. It is an immersive and dramatic expression of Starbucks' passion for coffee, located just nine blocks from the original Starbucks Pike Place store.

While we are focusing on Seattle startups...one has to include the coffee giant, Starbucks. So get a photo of the lines waiting to experience the first Starbucks at Pike Market...but experience the best coffees in the world at the Reserve. Also it is a bit of a Willy Wonka factory for roasting!

This is not a standard Starbucks - they serve their reserved specialty coffees and is a fun sightseeing spot! The roastery operations are in full display and very interesting!
