Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co
They try real hard to find Whales for viewing. Sunfish typically come right up to the boat for viewing humans!
Ryan and I went on a whale watch last year, and had such a good time! We ended up seeing six humpbacks - and the views of the island were as good as they get!
Check out the tours! Make reservations in advance. My personal favorite is the Baker Island Tour.
Located in Bar Harbor (obviously) this company has more than twenty-five years of tour operation experience and has taken over one million people to see whales out in the Gulf of Maine. They also offer Atlantic Puffin watch tours. Reservations/tickets are required, so please visit their website,…

“Located at the end of Great Long Pond. You will pass on your way to Big Camp. You can rent kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards.”
“For a nice swim, warmer than the ocean, Echo Lake is the perfect choice. There are several access points-my favorite being "the ledges"- accessible by a short path down from the parking lot along Route 102.”
“BAR HARBOR—My favorite place for brunch. Also has a great dinner menu. If you are traveling alone, dine at the bar. The bartenders are very friendly. ”
“The best steamers around and a wide variety of lobster choices. The seating has a view of the working waterfront in Southwest Harbor. Watch the lobster boats coming in at the end of the day as you eat your local seafood. ”
“Crazy type of old movie theater with three or four rows of old couches in the front and rows of seats with shallow counter/tables in front. This is for the food that you can buy at the concession stand as you enter. This is a local hangout that is open year round with recent movies showing.”
