The Cartusian monastery of Santa María de las Cuevas is situated on the right bank of the Guadalquivir river. Due to the abundance of clay, numerous pottery kilns were installed.

Inside this old monastery there is now the Museum of contemporary art (Centro andaluz de arte contemporáneo), which is totally worth visiting. On Saturday is free. There is also a nice bar outside it and on Sunday there are jazz sessions.
