A visit to Charlottesville isn't complete without a stop at the Downtown Mall. It is one of the most beautiful and successful pedestrian malls in the nation, and it's located in historic downtown Charlottesville. A wonderful mix of restored and renovated buildings that typified small "downtowns"…
“Check out the Rotunda (must go up in the dome!!), check out the basement. Stroll down the lawn, take a right at the bottom and go past the outdoor ampitheater. If you have kids go to the whispering wall, then head out past the Berlin Wall exhibit and then across the street back to Edgar Allen Poe's dorm room. Spend some extra time seeng the grounds or go grab a bite on "the corner" where students like to hang-out. Fast casual you have to try "Roots", but several good restaurants.”
“One of the best places for pizza in Charlottesville. Not a huge restaurant, so on Friday and Saturday nights you might have to wait for a table, but you can wait next door at The Bridge and enjoy a glass of Potter's Cider while you wait for your table to be ready. Great menu and friendly staff make this place a favorite among the locals.”
