Hood River Lavender Farms
Nothing quite as peaceful as picking your own lavender. The purple rows are "book-ended" by views of both Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. One of my favorite spots.
“Best and maybe the only sushi place in Hood River. Every Monday, buy 1 hand roll and get 1 free + $2 Rainiers from 5-9 pm. ”
“One of the best food carts in the Gorge. The chef was trained in a French culinary school and it shows! Plenty of you-pick flowers. Perfect way to wine taste and cider taste to keep everyone happy. ”
“SUMMARY: For a long while, this was the downtown hotspot for families and friends of all ages, offering pizza, beers and a movie (Skylight Theater). And it still is a great location, extremely busy at times--therein lies the rub, for with great success comes great responsibility, and that's hard if your local work force is limited. FOOD: Management has great recipes for superb pizzas, and fantastic calzones rubbed with olive oil, but the help doesn't always get it right, especially when it's crowded (long waits, overcooked/undercooked, errors). DRINK: Beer on tap, sodas. AMBIANCE: Cafe-style, large family-freindly space, big tables, palyroom for kids, and a nice movie theater in the back.”
“Music nights are really nice. We never know the bands but always enjoy them. Mostly low-key so you can still talk and sip wine. Good starting spot. ”
