This for me, has the best tasting coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Located on the main street downtown.

SUMMARY: Make your way east through downtown Hood River to the end of Oak Street, before it bends, you will find this unique Hood River spot- Ground Espresso Bar. COFFEE: They roast their own coffee, and it is truly special. Espressos are as rich and dark as liquid ebony, and thick like molasses. This is where ordering a single shot of espresso (instead of a double) has ever made any sense! Still, go ahead with a double... FOOD: They bake their own pastries, and make sandwiches to order. All very fresh with edgy flavorful ingredients. AMBIANCE: This is a very hip retro 1950's style café, conducive to long stays after many mugs of coffee. It has nice big south-facing windows.

At the very end of Oak Street is a coffee spot with a ton of personality. Great breakfast choices, esp for gluten-free or veg. Sandwiches snacks, nice bay window seats. Ok to bring laptop and work.
