A fantastic little zoo with plenty of animals, a train, and merry-go-round. Animals are easy to view and the park is small enough that it can be walked in just a few hours. The kids will also love the playground and picnic area across from the zoo.
One of the oldest zoos in Indiana, located in South Bend, about 40 minute drive from the cottage. Open since 1902, this zoo supplements its exhibits with educational programs, train rides & more. A cute little zoo with a large selection of animals, perfect for few hours of fun!
If you are coming with kids, this is a great zoo! Recently added carousel and expanded animal areas make this a must see, even if you've been before. Surprisingly affordable and easy to get around. If you have extra time, the kids will love the large playground nearby.
Hey, South Bend has a Zoo. Go figure! It's pretty nice too. They also host events that are a blast (and usually sell out almost immediately). Our favorite is Zoo Brew. They fill the zoo with micro brewers and you walk around sampling craft beer all night. Another favorite is Zoo Boo at Halloween…
“The Studebaker National Museum is a state-of-the-art, 55,000-square-foot facility that opened in October 2005. The building has three levels and features fully climate-controlled galleries and storage facilities to ensure the best possible care for the Collection. The Studebaker National Museum was designed by South Bend’s own James Childs Architects and features several design elements from Studebaker’s factory buildings.”
“Free museum across from ND stadium (north end); great exhibits, friendly staff.”

“At our museum, you will discover, experience, and immerse yourself in history. You can visit the historic Oliver Mansion, gardens, and our many galleries. ”
