Sublocality Level 1
A hot spot for good restaurants and bars as well. Have lunch/ dinner at Puro or Jojo's and at night go up the road to the bars on rua Pacheco Leao. Or to have a typical Brazilian meal/ delicious meat, go to Rubayat, the restaurant where you look out over horse races at the inner city jockey club. In the same area you have the beautiful open-for-all art school Parque lage which is worth a visit, they have recently opened a good relaxed restaurant inside.
Get to know the actual Jardim Botanico and the Parque Lage, their both are amazing places to take a full day. For lunch, try Casa Camolese.
One of the world's best botanical gardens. It's an essential part of any visit to Rio and can be reached after walking along the Lagoa. Keep an eye out for the monkeys!
With over 6000 different types of tropical and sub-tropical plants, definitely worth a visit !!!
“Less famous than its neighbor Jardim Botânico park, it's a nice place to visit. House of an Art School.”
“Take a fascinating cable car ride to see stunning views over Rio from this incredible mountain.”

“The monument overlooking Rio de Janeiro have beyond breathtaking views. It is considered one of the seven new wonders of the world. There are three ways to get to it. You can take a train, van or hike. The train is the most famous and traditional way. The train will take you through Atlantic Forest almost to the top of the Corcovado Mountain. Make sure to have you camera ready and look to the right when the train is almost in the top. I suggest to pick a beautiful sunny day, so you don't miss any of the spectaculars views. ”
“If you are taking a day to visit downtown Rio, Museu do Amanha is a nice place to stop. If you are short on time, the museum inside is not a must, but take a walk around the museum and Praça Mauá. Weekends have a lively vibe.”
