Hotel New York is sinds 1993 gevestigd in het prachtige voormalige hoofdkantoor van de Holland Amerika Lijn, ook wel The Grand Old Lady genoemd. Het hoofdkantoor werd in 1901 in Jugendstil stijl gebouwd. De Holland Amerika Lijn speelde een grote rol in de landverhuizingen van Europa naar Amerika.
