National Museum of Civil War Medicine
A fantastic (quick) museum in the heart of downtown Frederick. Civil war Medicine is very interesting, considering what they were doing!
Educational experience for a rainy day. And they have fun themed socks in the gift shop:)
Ok.... this place is a must! Looks a bit hokey from the front but the Museum is done so well! The Carriage House overlooks the first Civil War Hospital called The Hessian Barracks. You will walk away from this spot with a great insight of why Frederick, MD is on the map. ....and, you're welcome…
I learned that the way we triage patients in ED's in hospitals today originated in Frederick during the Civil War. Most of the downtown churches were transformed into hospitals for over a year during the War. This is a must-see.
“Varied menu selection of tasty options. The mushroom & asparagus egg rolls are scrumptious! Good food. Good pricing. Ask for "Justin" to be your server!”
“Best Italian in downtown Frederick. The guys do an awesome job making you feel welcome and serving up the best Italian dishes. Highly recommend the Filetti di Pesce!”
“A beautiful mile long park in the heart of downtown Frederick along carol creek ”
“Hipster bar featuring local art and drinks in mason jars. I recommend the Gypsy Love Latte. Good for brunch/breakfast. ”
“You’ll see this one a few times since the guys that own it are local and the best of the best! I host wine tours here that you can sign up for through Airbnb! This one happens to be in Frederick as well as right on the creek! $$$”
