Ripon Cathedral has a history reaching back to the 7th century. Tourists are welcome to visit and view the Great East window, listen to the daily choir rehearsals or attend one of the big evening concerts . You can also marvel at the carvings in the choir stalls and misericords - said to have inspired Lewis Carroll when writing Alice in Wonderland.

Ripon Cathedral is a beautiful, ancient church with a history reaching back to the 7th century. It is a mother church for the Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales and home for the cathedra (throne) of the Bishop of Leeds. Beautiful place to spend a morning before spending an afternoon in Ripon or Thirsk
